Nothing like a little bit of glam for your Wednesday. I wore this to a sales event at the University of Tulsa last week and I put the outfit together while asking myself "What will look cute even if I have to run with huge boxes in the rain?" Nothing like quality 90s synthetic mini dresses and some red lip stain to keep you covered in all situations.

I cannot believe I haven't blogged this dress before. It is one of the most beautiful pieces of 1960s vintage I have ever seen (much less owned!) and I adore it. I found it at the Tulsa Antique Show in February and it was love at first sight. The lady gave me a great deal on it and it had the ORIGINAL, 1960s department store tags on it. Literally like-new vintage. Sometimes life just tosses you those easy ones so you can feel great about knocking it out of the park.

This outfit is basically all the weird things in my closet that I love. And I love that about it.

What to call this piece of clothing - a shawl? a shrug? a cape? a cardi? I really don't know - but I like it! The proportions are tricky though, and this dress seems to just work so well with it. Happy accidents.

I love vintage clothing and going to church and selling jewelry are two of the best places make vintage clothes feel really truly at home, and yesterday it was church. It was so nice to wear this on a rainy day...

Made me feel all sunny inside!

I sold at a fun craft fair this last Saturday and it gave me lots of great new ideas for blog posts! I'm excited to be putting together some great new content to share with you!

I pass a billboard for hard cider on my drive to school and I always chuckle at their slogan: Branch out. What a great tagline for a fruit cider that is trying to compete with beer! But, at any rate, I have found it inspiring. So I'm branching out today. I wore Italian vintage to the hardware store. Oklahoma, get ready.

housewife redux

This dress is a treasure. 

It looks marginally okay on the hanger, kind of shapeless, which it also is when I wear it by itself, but a simple, tiny belt is all it needs to become amazing.  I'm just happy I found it and had faith enough to try it on!

It was $3.50 at the thrift store. Didn't I say it was a treasure?

It is so wonderfully full and twirly, not to mention the fact that it makes me feel like a 1950's housewife.
