Wedding Files #8: Personal Invitations

It has been important to John and I from the start of our wedding planning that our wedding be personalized. One of the ways we decided to do that was to make our own invitations. We wanted to be smart about postage and we also knew we wanted our guests to RSVP online through our wedding website, set up through MyWedding.com, so postcards were perfect for us. We also wanted to have kind of a vintage correspondence theme going on. 

{RSVP service is free through MyWedding, as is the wedding website--perfect for the budget bride!}

I designed these postcards using Photoshop and one of our favorite engagement pictures taken by Anna Darlene Photography. I had them printed by GotPrint, which was a great site to work with and they shipped the finished postcards unbelievably fast! So far our guests have mentioned that they liked the ease of RSVPing online and the postcard was very "us." All in all, we've been very happy with our invitations and I'm glad our guests have liked them too!

70s Show

I tried to not like the 70s style for so long. And then I caved. 

Hello high waisted pants, printed tops, and sky-high wedges. 

{Wearing this outfit makes me think about the beginning of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie when they swear to not wear their shirts tucked in with a belt at the same time. Oops.} 

I hope your enjoying your spring time. It's so beautiful here and I am so ready for May, road trips and getting married! I feel like a one woman factory lately, but I love making so many goodies to share with the people I love and celebrate the start of John and I's life together.

The Countdown

On My Own

John is in Boston for the week at an educator conference and so this is my first solo week in Tulsa. Also, his mom is in Austria for the month so it's REALLY a solo week for me. So between cat care and comic book errands, I've managed to carve out some "settling in time" to find a doctor, manicurist, hair stylist, and day spa. Nothing makes a place feel like home like knowing who "I go to."

Haircut pictures coming soon! Nothing drastic, put it's fun for me anyway.

I know I just wore this skirt not that long ago on the blog, but I'm in love with it, so that makes it okay.

I swear I am happier than I look in this picture, but I am anxiously awaiting John's return tomorrow!

Off Kilter

John got creative with the picture angles today, and that actually pretty accurately represents my mental state of late. If you haven't noticed from the lack of posting lately, things are a little off. 

Today I'm starting to head back in the right direction, but here's to finding the beauty in the 

sideways-ness in the meantime. John is good at helping me do that.

Navy Dot

I am remembering how much I like texture as I get ready for my wedding and that has been showing up in my clothes lately. The chiffon skirt and the poplin top with the faux snakeskin belt mash up all my favorite things right now. Perfect casual Friday outfit.

On a more introspective note, things have been challenging lately, but I am throughly enjoying a three day weekend with my future husband, not to mention Easter coming soon. I hope that the holiday is happy and holy for you and your family.
